What role do animals play in your life?

In most cases animal testing serves the purpose of optimizing systems, procedures and products. Medication, chemicals, wash detergent, cosmetic products (makeup) are first tested on animals before brought on the market.

This is a very controversial topic, mainly because we grew up in a society that normalises entertainment from animals; Zoo's, animals shows, aquariums, circuses etc. Even though it might not seam like it, 99% of the time the animals do not want to be there and are being forced to do unnatural things.

Most people don’t even think about honey not being vegan. But even bees are being exploited and bred in masses. Normally bees need the honey themselves (it’s their food and especially important in the winter time) – that’s why they produce it. In addition to this a lot of bees die or get hurt when the honey is taken out of their honeycomb. Climate change and the dramatic amount of dying bees are connected closely.

When you hunt animals in the wild they at least had a normal life probably. But in my opinion killing animals is generally wrong. Wether it is a cow, a cat or a whale, from the wild, the zoo, animal farms or the own home...
