Best snack bars - a guide

I recently discovered this woman-led company. Their chocolate peanut butter protein bar is light, low in calories (170), and has 10 grams of protein per bar. I love the combination between the peanut butter and the crispness.

The same company also makes a delicious high protein cookie. They offer three different flavors: snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, and lemon blondie. They are well sized and have 10 grams on only 170 calories.

This one has an amazingly high protein content: 20 grams per bar. It really does taste like a cinnamon roll - very yummy! In contrast to many other protein bars, the no cow doesn’t have a chocolate coating. It is also very dense and quite big - the bar weighs 60 grams and only has 190 calories.

About a year ago the fitness role model Pamela Reif started her own food company called Naturally Pam. One of her first products was this plant powered protein bar. Both flavors, chocolate-peanut and coffee-hazelnut are very delicious (and have a chocolate coating!). The ingredients are clean, the texture is dense, and the bar has 9 grams of protein.

Another one of Pamela's bars is this crunch bar. It is light and very crispy. Again, the ingredients are pretty good and organic. I love the chocolate drizzle on top. And the entire bar only has 131 kcal.

There is something about this bar that makes it taste different. But in a good way. There are two flavors, both of which I really like: cookie dough and brownie. They have 11-12 grams of protein and about 215 calories. But more importantly, they are sustainable, natural and healthy, since they have no artificial sweeteners. In fact, these are probably the most natural protein bars you can find.

This one is also different, because it is basically a chocolate bar. However, it is healthy, has natural organic ingredients, no artificial sweeteners. There are six different flavors, all of which have some kind of crunch to them. A few, especially the white chocolate ones are very creamy. The Crunchy Nougat is my favorite flavor. Compared to other chocolate bars it is higher in protein.

Recently I found this interesting breakfast bar at my local Giant. What makes it so special are the probiotics it contains. Plus, all the flavors I’ve tried so far are very delicious; blueberry-banana-almond, peanut butter, and especially dark chocolate cherry. They are sweetened with natural fibers and have between 5 and 10 grams of protein per bar. If you want to give these gut improving snacks/breakfast replacements a try, look in the refrigerated section ;)

This chocolate-heaven protein bomb definitely holds its promise. The flavor is called chocolate brownie. It is quite big, super chocolatey (choc coating included) and layered with a crispy top and dense bottom. The entire bar (50 grams) only has 200 calories while carrying grams of protein! I got this one at a grocery store in Germany, but you can also order it in the KoRo online shop.

Gluten free. Refined sugar free. Nut free.

Raw bar: This organic snack bar only has a few real food and organic ingredients, (mainly) consisting of nuts and fruit. There are many flavors; my favorites include apple cinnamon, raw cacao, and vanilla berries. I also like the protein version, since it tastes just like the chocolate one, but has more protein (10 grams)! The bar weighs 50 grams and has 209 calories.

“Dang“ was in fact my reaction when I tried this snack bar for the first time. It has the perfect combination of crunch and creaminess. Also, it doesn’t taste like a traditional protein bar, but still has 9 grams of protein per bar. For those interest in a high fat diet, it is cos ordered Keto.

Gluten free. Refined sugar free. Keto.

This last one isn’t the healthiest of options, but it is very high in protein: 21? grams per bar! It has several layers, is very crispy, sweet, and has a chocolate coating. Unfortunately, it does contain cane sugar and high fructose corn sirup… However, it is bigger and more therefore more filling than other snack bars (290 - 310) calories.

Gluten free. Non-GMO. Low glycemic.
